Medina, eastern Colombia; 500 metres; one pair (Fassl). Dognin, P. (1914). Hétérocères nouveaux de l'Amérique du Sud, fasc. 7: p. 5 (under Cosmosoma stictinota). Translated from the French original. In fascicule V of the Hétérocères nouveaux de l'Amérique du Sud I described, in June 1912, a Cosmosoma dorsicincta ♀ to which I believed I could pair a ♂ despite certain differences which my description pointed out. Since then I have received a Cosmosoma dorsicincta ♂ absolutely typical and conforming to the ♀, the only differences being that only the penultimate segment is ringed ventrally with black and the anal tuft is black. I shall correct in passing an error which slipped into my description of Cosmosoma dorsicincta ♀, where I state "legs black, the coxae and femora black"; it should read "legs black, the coxae and femora yellow". As for the ♂ paired by mistake with dorsicincta ♀, I propose to name it stictinota. Hampson, G. F. (1914). Catalogue of the Lepidoptera Phalaenae in the British Museum, Supplement vol. 1: p. 169, pl.
